Sing-A-Ma-Jigs were first introduced this year at the New York Toy Fair 2010, and are seen to be the next big thing this Christmas. What are they?
They are cute little teddy bear styled dolls that are in four bright, primary colours at the moment and there it is believed that there will be eight more models to be released by the fall. They chatter away in their own language and, when you squeeze their bellies, their mouth open and they sing! What do they sing?
By themselves a Sing-A-Ma-Jig will sing their own song in a vocal range from alto to baritone.
The current coloured characters sing:
(Red) Where Oh Where has My Little Dog Gone"
(Pink) "Skip to My Loo"
(Teal)"When the Saints Go Marching In"
(Yellow)"Home on the Range"
Put them together, squeeze their tummies and that is when the magic really starts to happen. Each character will auto tune and they will all sing together in perfect harmony. The more you add, the more of a choir you have as they all produce their own tones which will harmonize with all the others. What happens when you squeeze their paw?
Squeeze their left paw and their singing modes change from chatter to single notes or their preset songs. They may hold their hands in the air with a look of shock and surrender, but they look as though they are surprised by their own ability.
These toys are designed for ages between 36 Months - 6 Years, but are liked by all kinds of kids, and the kid in all of us as these Sing-A-Ma-Jig toys are just so adorable!
