Environmentally Friendly Toys - Playing for Green children

It amazes me how many children toys are harmful to the environment. were often built with cheap materials and a long life, he landed in the trash and waste within a year or two if lucky. And many are able to have plastic such as PVC, health problems. Too many toys require batteries, and although there is nothing wrong with the occasional battery-powered toys are not as environmentally friendly, like a light or a solar-powered, hand operated,a toy powered by imagination.

In search of green toys, I'm the first to natural ingredients. Solid wood is high on the list of natural substances. much better than plastic, especially plastic, soft PVC would you. plush are also good, though check what are the facts.

Well preserved toys are the first choice. Often you can easily recognize a toy cheap, low quality. Enjoy a little ', but will not last long typical behavior of children, while it is difficult to destroy a block of wood, for example.

Toys from local materials, perhaps by local artisans, are best seen from an environmental perspective. They are certainly much better than if the raw material is supplied over lake and then the toy were over, returned to the case at some point. You will find toys made locally, high quality in general, the local fairs and markets, sometimes peasants.

RecyclingToys> is also very environmentally friendly. There are several large plastic toys such as slides and playhouses that even if we never would have bought maybe we got for free from someone who has happened to them. You better get re-used as a landfill to fill!

What is the best educational toys for children, brain?

Brain building toys are worth considering next time you are shopping for a present or looking to renew some of the toys in your home.

These toys are ones that challenge the brain to be creative and imaginative, therefore helping to connect synapses in the brain.

Great Brain Building Toys are ones that:

are open ended - do not require a right or wrong response;

encourage your child to manipulate, interact or figure something out;

provide opportunities for experimentation and new discovery;

require active handling;

Teach about relationships such as top, middle, bottom, small, big, bigger, biggest;

encourage your child to pretend, such as toy tools, dress up boxes, utensils and small play figures.

Some examples of these materials could include - nesting and stacking toys or objects, common household objects such as tools, cooking utensils and gadgets (for creative problem-solving and imaginative play), containers for dumping and pouring, art materials, stringing or sorting different sizes of beads, buttons, pasta shells, wooden blocks, construct-o-straws and carpentry sets.

Brain building toys that encourage manipulative and constructive play help develop higher order thinking skills of the brain and develop fine motor control and sequencing. These skills relate to later attention and self control.

If you are looking for toys that encourage large muscle activities to promote coordination and using both sides of the brain, utilize balls for catching, throwing, kicking and jungle gyms for climbing. Balancing and spinning materials exercise the cerebellum which also contribute to academic learning. Make sure the materials are manageable, safe and fun.

Try not to be distracted by too many electronic, buzzing, glitzy toys on the market today. Many of them have ready made images and plots, where you child cannot pretend or imagine.

You will also find that your child loses interest in these sort of toys quickly as once they get the desired response the toy quickly becomes boring.

Open ended toys can be played with, constructed, pulled down and manipulated over and over to achieve new goals time again. There are many new kits and materials being produced in the market place today if you look for them. You can also find them in educational catalogs through your local play group.

These kind of toys are better value and much healthier on child brain development.

Barney Toys - A New Breed of Dinosaur Toys

Dinosaurs are more often than not depicted as big, scary-looking creatures with huge jaws, sharp teeth and a thunderous roar. Almost all movies and shows and toys equate these creatures to monstrosity. That did not make it any less appealing to kids. They absolutely love playing and imagining being in a land filled with the huge, scary dinosaurs.

But then in 1987, Barney was born. A cute and cuddly purple and green dinosaur who loves eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. And milk. It doesn't come as a surprise why kids get attracted to such an endearing and sweet character.

The real sweet deal is aside from kids being able to watch Barney on television; Barney toys are now available in all leading toy stores, in all parts of the world.

The Barney toys range from big plush stuffed toys to little miniature Barneys that are equally soft and plush, ready to be loved and cuddled by newborns. Some of them can even laugh and talk and sing at the push of a button.

The Barney and Friends toys have become so successful that apart from the plush stuffed toys, there are even Barney online games now.

Kids just absolutely adore their Barney toys. Someone as young as a two-year-old already has the sense of being completely adamant by deciding she won't sleep without her Barney toy beside her.

It makes you wonder what these kids see in their Barney toys... how come they absolutely adore them. How come they can't put them down? How come after they've outgrown stuffed toys, they still have to go through playing online games involving the purple dinosaur?

But then again, if kids can actually fall in love with the real scary-looking dinosaurs that bite and roar and frighten everyone, then I can absolutely understand and even support that they adore the sandwich-fruits-and-vegetables-eating purple and green creature, who can sing and laugh and make all things cuddly and happy.

Toys For Autistic Children - Not All Products Are Equal

Autism is an increasingly prevalent disability in children. One report states that 1 out of every 150 children born has some form of autism. This is an increase of over 170% in the last 20 years. With this increase, there are now many doctors, teachers, and therapist who are experts in working with kids with autism.

These experts agree that one important way to reach autistic children and help them in their development is through play. It is important to keep in mind that what "typical" children might play with, may be different than what special needs children would like and benefit from. Here are some tips that can help you choose toys that are appropriate.

Choose Toys Based On Developmental Level

Before choosing toys for autistic children, it is important to know what types of toys autistic children would benefit from. Toys should not be chosen based on age. Since autistic children develop at different rates and there are varying levels of autism, toys should be chosen based on developmental level. This can be determined by observing the child.

Repetitive Motion Toys

Autistic children like toys that require them to do repetitive motions. They like to try the same thing over and over and to figure out how things work. It offers them some type of calm. They soothe themselves by repetitive motion. They like to push buttons, turn knobs or, say the same phrases repeatedly.

This need for repetitive motion can be fulfilled through toys. Simple balls that children can roll back and forth or exercise balls that children can sit on and roll are great choices. Oval balls, peanut shaped balls, and round balls all work well in giving children the opportunity to roll balls back and forth with a teacher or care giver. Even infant toys such as stackers are great ways for children to perform the repetitive motions that are important to their sense of calm.

Balance and Movement Toys

Along with playing with toys that require repetitive motion, autistic children like to move themselves in a repetitive way. Many autistic children rock back and forth, do the same motion with their hands continually, or may even bang their head. Many look at these motions as strange, however many researchers tell you that repetitive movements help autistic children regulate their bodies. The motions sooth and center them as yoga might for an adult. This is why swinging or spinning are great options.

For the classroom or for therapy, movement toys bring about the desired feeling autistic kids are longing for. Balance boards are a good option. Children can stand on the board and rock from side to side while keeping their balance. Rocking disks create the same feeling but children rock side to side while sitting. Balance beams and mini trampolines are also good ways to allow kids to balance and move.

Finding the right toys for special needs kids in their classroom, at home, or for therapy doesn't have to be difficult. By following these tips and observing the likes and dislikes of the children you are working with, you can use these toys to teach and reach autistic children.

Toys For the Young Adventurer

If you're lucky enough to have been blessed with a child with an adventurer's heart, the first thing you need to do is encourage them to sit down and watch all of the Indiana Jones and Mad Max films.

Next, you can take a look online and check out all the great educational toys available for adventure kids.

Dora the Explorer and Indiana Jones toys are great for playing indoors, but a real young adventurer is more interested in mounting exploration missions outdoors. If you live in a rural area, you're at a great advantage. There are few childhood memories as treasured as exploring the woods. Drawing maps, using string and a stick to make a bow and arrow, imagining that you're Robin Hood hiding from Sheriff Nottingham, life doesn't get much better.

Sadly, these rural neighbourhoods are slowly giving way to urban development. City kids are forced to take camping trips every time they want to so much as look for weird bugs under rocks, and so, it's not uncommon for most kids to retreat to video games and DVDs for their adventure. Ironically, The Legend of Zelda video games are based on the creator's memories of playing in the woods as a child. He was inspired to create these games by his lament that there are fewer exploration opportunities for kids today than there were all those years ago. The Zelda games are fun, but they don't match the real thing.

You may or may not be surprised to learn that National Geographic has a toy line. For starters, one of their best ideas so far has been the National Geographic Explorer Kit. This kit comes with real working binoculars, a flashlight, a compass, and a manual full of helpful information. If you live in the city and hate camping, we can't really recommend this one, of course, because your kids will be begging you to take them out into the wilderness every weekend.

If your kids are more of the treasure hunter type, National Geographic also makes a real working metal detector at under AU $50.00. Yes, a real working metal detector, not a hunk of useless plastic in the shape of a metal detector.

And then of course there's the astronomer kids. National Geographic's 30ML Ultra Compact 30MM-30X Telescope is a great, basic telescope, featuring a tabletop tripod, 30X magnification, and an optical tube (which can be removed, allowing the telescope to be used as an explorer's spyglass). It's not the most top of the line telescope out there, but as a beginner's scope, and at just over thirty bucks, it's an excellent way to test the waters before dropping a few hundred on some fancy high tech scope.

A lot of adults think it's gross, so finding funny looking bugs is one of the great pleasures reserved for young explorers. A lot of the funniest looking bugs only come out at night. National Geographic Night Vision Goggles allow for night time exploration via a bright LED "torch". What puts these goggles a step or two above other kids night vision is that this isn't just a pair of glasses with a flashlight attached, it also includes a sonic ear listening device, allowing the wearer to hear distant or small sounds. This means that you'll have to sit in the car with the radio turned up really loud before discussing what you're getting your kids for Christmas this year with anyone, but it's a small price to pay.

How to Buy Plush Toys?

Plush toys make great playmates for children. Being around these soft and cuddly toys, especially (animal figures) gives most children a feeling security and comfort. The best way to buy one for your child is to take him/her toy shopping with you. However, if for some reason you can't or want to surprise your little darling with a new cuddly playmate, remember to follow these guidelines-

A plush toy from a cartoon show, movie or video game that your child is fond of is sure to bring a smile on his/her face.

The size of the plush toy should depend on your child's personal preference and age. In general toddlers get scared of toys bigger than them in size, but slightly older children seem to like big toys.

A plush toy with sound will not only make an entertaining playmate but will also play an educational role. However, avoid buying such toys for 4-7 month olds, as they may get scared of sound emitting toys.

If your child has started going to school, animal plush toys with sound can act as excellent teaching aids. Not only will your child learn the names of animals and the sounds they make, you can also use these toys to teach your children the art of differentiating between colors and even make bedtime stories far more interesting and fun!

Plush toys, especially animal plush toys should look almost exactly like real animals; this will help your child identify them on TV and in the real world.

Finally, make sure that the toy is manufactured by a company with a good reputation.

7 Tips For Buying Bakugan Toys Online

Bakugan toys are available to those who want them and they can be found online, too. For those who are looking for a way to buy their child their favorite character toys, this may be one of the best ways to do so. It is up to you, though, to score the Internet and find just what you are looking for. Since part of the fun of collecting Bakugan is your ability to search for them, you may find the process a bit more challenging than you first thought. The good news is that there are some tips that can help you.

1. Know what you have already so that when you do find toys available online, you can purchase them right away. Even online inventories are gone through quickly and you may not have a few hours to check with your child about what they have. Keep a running list to help you.

2. Check out your local retailers websites for the availability of Bakugan toys. Many times, traditional stores are the best bet for these toys over traditional local department stores. For example, your local deep discount department store may no longer have any Bakugan in stock but their website may.

3. Consider purchasing battle packs or combo packs. Sometimes it is very difficult to find the single Bakugan toys but you may be able to find the more price battle packs. The good news is that you can often get several at one time this way. When buying battle packs, keep in mind that you should have an idea of what is included. Sometimes, they will not list which ones will receive.

4. You can purchase through the Bakugan website, too. This is a fantastic way for you to find the toys you want and need in great supply. It is also the best place to find the latest products and news releases about the battle brawlers coming out.

5. Check out the forums. There are many Bakugan forums available online. While you traditionally should not be selling at these websites, you can often communicate with others and trade Bakugan. This is a great way to find the best and the rarer battle brawlers.

6. Use eBay.com! Do not forget that there are often a steady supply of Bakugan available at eBay. This is an auction site, so you will need to keep in mind that prices could be very low or very high, depending on the demand.

7. When you hope to buy hard to find Bakugan, be sure you give yourself the best opportunity to do so by visiting websites throughout the day and every day. The more frequently you check out these websites, the more likely you will find product in stock. Often, these websites get in inventory daily which will sell out within a matter of hours.

Infant Teething Toys

Infant teething toys are toys that are offered to a baby while he or she is teething. An infant normally begins teething between four and six months old. This time of teething is when a baby's first tooth is about to come in. The gums to be swollen and red and the mouth tends to have increased saliva. It can be quite aggravating for a baby because they he or she is experiencing a lot of stress due to gum inflammation. To ease symptoms, many times a teething ring is given to an infant. development toys can help a tooth cut through the gums, relieving pain and pushing it through.

Baby teething rings are often the best infant teething toys that can be given to a child during teething time. They are made of plastic, rubber or metal to relieve the pressure felt in swollen gums and neutralizing pain effectively. Rubber teething rings are used most often, having more sales over plastic or metal rings. Rubber rings are neither too soft nor too hard, which makes it ideal for an infant. Teething rings are made in various styles, colors, sizes and shapes. Some are gel-filled other are water-filled which also can be cooled.

Using infant teething toys can be very advantageous over not using any at all. Many toys for teething today are made with a cooling feature where they can be kept in a freezer or refrigerator to cool, giving greater relief to very sore gums. These toys help so much that a baby can be seen rubbing them on their gums. The pliability of a teething toy gives something solid for a baby to chew on, but something soft enough that will not damage the gums.

Why Children Need Toys to Grow and Learn

Once your kid has graduated infancy, the learning process becomes a little more complex. A year ago, they were learning how to eat solid food by chewing on a pillow. They were learning what would eventually allow them to read by staring at the mobile above their crib going around and around. Now it's time to start thinking about reading, mathematics, basic building and organizational skills, further social development... the list goes on.

The wrong way to go about teaching these skills, and certainly you know one or two parents like this, is to treat the educative process too much like... well, academics. You don't want to turn learning into something boring, with worksheets and assignments and so on. Learning should be fun, and if you teach that at a young age, it will remain with your child through their whole life.

So really, toys are a pretty important part of learning basic skills in a fun, exciting way. If you hand a kid a blackboard and tell him to write the alphabet, he's going to get bored. But, if you hand the kid some alphabet fridge magnets, he's going to write his name on the fridge. If he gets a little ambitious, maybe he'll piece them together to say "Hi Mom", or any number of things. That's what making learning fun is about, treating it like a game, not like a chore. In fact, that's what learning is all about in the first place. It's all about pursuing your own curiosities, conquering your own challenges, and enjoying life as it comes.

From infancy on, playing is vital to cognitive, social, and physical development. When you see a kid putting together his Go Diego Go playset, he's playing, yeah, but he's also learning a little something about how the world works, how to set goals and reach them. When you see a kid pitting his Luke Skywalker action figure against Darth Vader, he's just having fun, but he's also learning something important about human interaction.

You know, in psychotherapy, there's a lot of stuff that's kind of ambiguous, stuff that's up for debate, but the importance of playing is not amongst them. No competent children's psychotherapist in the world disagrees with this notion: Playing is critically important for human development.

Worth noting is the Sudbury School Model of Democratic Education. This model is named for the Sudbury Valley School, where playing is seen not only as vital and necessary, but as something very serious, something not to be compromised or restricted. Eighty percent of Sudbury graduates went on to graduate from college, and most have gone on to become very successful in life.

We can recommend any number of excellent toys to encourage positive development during play, from developmental toys to educational games. There are hundreds of great items to choose from, but you know... as long as you're nurturing your child's interests, as long as you're providing them with a degree of fun challenge, it's very hard to go wrong. Playing with a variety of fun toys is one of the most important steps to becoming a successful, happy adult, so keep your children playing, keep them active, keep them learning, and, eventually, they'll thank you for it.

The History and Purpose of Toys

Since the beginning of time Mothers have been trying to find ways to occupy their children. Therefore it is no surprise that toys have been around since the beginning of time. The natural playfulness and curiosity of children make toys a natural progression. For instance a child's imagination can figure out, how to make a game out of, and play with anything.

A child can occupy themselves making roads in the dirt, making castles out of sand, or just digging a little hole, which can create tunnels and other mysterious places. Sea shells, rocks, pine cones or what ever else is available can become a handy toy. In spite of a child's unique creativeness parents throughout time have tried to reward and entertain their children with toys.

Ancient Egyptians created balls from leather and dried papyrus reeds. They also created marbles out of black and white stones. There were many Egyptian dolls as well. Some were made from leather and papyrus; many were carved out of wood, bone, or ivory. Some even had jointed limbs and moveable jaws. The less affluent would fashion dolls and figurines out of clay.

They even created spinning tops, and had many different physical games, with balls and sticks and wrestling. They also enjoyed board games such as Mehen and Senet. Ancient Roman toys were similar. They had balls and games played with hoops and sticks. Wooden swords and shields were also popular for simulated battle games.

Like the Egyptians the Romans enjoyed board games and marbles. They also created dolls and figurines out of wood, wax, and terra cotta. Similarly the inhabitants of early Greece enjoyed wooden horses on wheels pulled by strings, terra cotta dolls, clay animals, baby rattles, and primitive yo-yos.

I found a New York Times article from 1902 that was about the big Christmas toys of that year. They were new automobile toys, some were metal wind up editions, and some were more elaborate expensive toy automobiles that adults were purchasing. The other big toy hits of that year were toy submarine boats and flying machines.

Baby dolls have been popular throughout the centuries. But in 1960 the first Barbie fashion doll was introduced. Other great toys from the 1960's were slinkies, colour forms, the view master, etch-a-sketch, lite brite, spirograph, the Fort Apache play set, Marvel the Mustang, and too many more to mention.

Many of these toys are still popular today. Plus we have some new toys. Besides the great strides made in electronics and video games, we have Bakugan Battle Brawlers. Barbie is still around but she is joined by the Bratz, Moxie Girlz, and Liv Dolls. There are tons of new board games and action figures. Plus the classic games and toys of the past are still around and being improved upon.

In spite of changes in time and technology the basic premise of play has remained unchanged. Toys have always been used to stimulate the imagination and keep children occupied and entertained. No matter how much time passes parents will never grow tired of seeing a child's face light up when presented with a new toy.

Inflatable Toys

The category of "inflatable toys" used to consist of little more than beach balls and swimming pool floats, but today it encompasses a huge variety of toys that are made tougher than ever. You've no doubt seen kids (and adults!) play in bounce houses and have a great time. The floors and walls are soft, and falling down doesn't hurt. And today's children often need extra encouragement to make physical play a regular part of their life, so inflatable toys are good in that way, too.

There are now great indoor inflatable jumper toys that are perfect for keeping toddlers entertained on a rainy afternoon. Round "jump-o-lenes" that will fit in a playroom are available for less than $100 and will hold two young children. There are some smaller inflatable toy bounce houses and inflatable toys that incorporate slides that can go indoors.

But for larger or for multiple kids, the inflatable toys big enough to accommodate them are too big to go indoors. Back yard inflatable toys can be much more elaborate, however.

Inflatable toys can cost up to a couple of thousand dollars if you want to buy the models used by rental companies. But most are in the $200 to $500 range and work fine for the average family.

The Castle Inflatable Bounce House with Slide by Bounceland costs around $250 and has a 9' x 12' "footprint." It has a soft play area surrounded by netting, and an exit slide. It has received good reviews on toy review sites.

On the high-end side of inflatable kids toys is the KidWise Clubhouse Inflatable Bounce House by KidWise. It costs roughly $650 and its "footprint is 16 x 16 feet. It can accommodate up to 400 lbs. of kids as long as each comes in at under 100 lbs. It has two external slides and one internal slide and several crawl-through and obstacle course features.

Inflatable jumper toys are extremely popular these days, and there are many designs that can go in the average family's back yard or playroom.

Sophisticated Soft Toys For Discerning Toddlers

Sophisticated soft toys are becoming a lifestyle accessory. What used to be the sole domain of teddy bears is now open to a wide variety of soft and cuddly animals ranging from lions and hippos to dogs and frogs. Soft, squishy, comfortable and irresistible modern day plush toys are a necessity for any discerning toddler and there are an endless amount of high quality stuffed animals on the market today to satisfy all types of baby boys and baby girls.

Jellycat, established in London in 1999 is one of the few trailblazing companies that see the value of squishy toys among today's infants and toddlers. For years parents have known how important a stuffed animal is to a newborn, how that raggedy teddy bear becomes a best friend, close companion and sleeping buddy from day one.

Where people see stuffing a threads babies see a friendly face that never lets them down. But as times change and designs advance children begin to expect more from their toys and simply patching together some colored fabrics is no way to accent a lifestyle accessory.

Every year hundreds, if not thousands, of new toy designs enter the marketplace and compete for the valuable attention of infants and toddlers. Staying current with the latest in fabrics and kid-friendly designs is essential to captivating the hearts and minds of tasteful children the world over.

In addition to safety and social responsibility in the use of fabrics and manufacturing methods soft toys have to retain a sense of humor that will engage youngsters and be the toy they can't live without.

You can find several top-rated plush toy manufacturers including Jellycat, Melissa & Doug and Haba that have a full selection of soft toys and stuffed animals that will charm and delight infant boys and girls. Made from eco-friendly and kid-safe fabrics and materials and constructed using a CPSC Certificate of Conformity to worldwide safety standards these adorable and plush animal toys, including monkeys, rabbits and lambs will make for great play mates, nap time friends and cuddle up buddies for babies and toddlers.

Soft toys are an essential part of the development process young kids go through as they help to provide comfort and support in a fast-paced world. When kids are nervous or feel out of place they will feel a lot better if their favorite soft toy character is there to stand by him. Studies have also shown how soft toys can assist babies when sleeping, be used to help toddlers eat and to overcome common fears among children including darkness and being left alone for short periods of time. With a high quality, sophisticated soft toy at your child's side there's no challenge he won't be able to overcome.

Stages of Developmental Toys

Lots of toys are designed with child development in mind. But, do you know how to choose the ones that are developmentally appropriate? You probably have a general idea, based on your knowledge of your child's developmental level. But, you can use this guide to be sure that you are not missing the opportunity to identify and nourish a critical stage of your child's development.

1) To encourage the first stages of development, remember to focus on visual, social, touch, sound and smell. Newborns can focus best eight to twelve inches away from their faces. It is easy to hit all of the areas of development if you just talk to your baby. Give the baby plenty of gazing time to focus on your expression. Let them learn to recognize the sound of your voice and the smell of your skin. Avoid perfumes and scented soaps. Skin can be very sensitive, so gently let your baby feel soft objects only during the first three months.

2) By three months of age, a baby should be developing some social skills and some hand-eye coordination. This is a good age to start encouraging your baby to play with soft toys. Babies also love to study themselves in the mirror at this age. They should be able to imitate some facial expressions and movements. You can encourage hand-eye coordination by wearing a nursing necklace during feeding times, giving the child a target to focus on grabbing and manipulating while they are relaxed and content. Start working on gross motor skills by letting your baby stand with help in your lap. Developmental toys would include ones that are activated by swiping or kicking.

3) At seven months, your baby can most likely roll, sit and stand with help. The brain is developing very quickly and you will notice more problem solving skills emerge. For example, children around this age will figure out that they can move objects from one hand to the other if they need to hold on to something. Encourage these cognitive skills by purposely offering desired object to the child, one after another, all from the same side. Hide objects to see if your child can find them. Bouncy seats, assisted walking and jumping in your lap are appropriate gross motor skill activities.

4) By one year of age, your baby will understand facial expressions, tones of voice, have verbal responses to let you know how they feel, and many other skills. One year olds will be learning to walk, run, climb and jump. They will also be learning to speak and solve more complex problems. This is a good age to introduce puzzles, learning toys, and preschool toys without small parts. An activity table will encourage your child to develop some fine motor skills. Pincher motions are important to focus on at this age.

If you have questions concerning your child's development, talk with your pediatrician.

Aquarium Water Toys

Kids of today's generation aren't only fascinated about toy cars, Barbie dolls, toy robots, stationaries, plastic animals, toy guns and cellular phones. They are also fond of aquarium water toys that give beauty enhancement to the aquarium where fishes are reared by fish hobbyists. Or probably the entire aquarium picture is shaped up with toys. Sea creatures can be transformed into plastic versions so that they appear to be fun and exciting to kids.

To those who are ocean adventurers or dreaming to be one, you might get so much enjoyment from the aquarium water toys available in the market. From swimming toy fishes to toy plants, they're made with the finest materials to keep up with high quality and durability that most parents would get for their kids. Toys are part of a kid's lifestyle.

Children take playtime as a fun escape from the tiring side of life. They are fond of imagining worlds where they don't belong such as outer space and underworld. Oftentimes, they'd assume they are superheroes, little mermaids, fairytale characters and sea divers. There is no denying that parents would buy anything they can afford just to please their children. If their children point at some of the aquarium water toys, they usually end up saying yes. With this, manufacturers continue to upgrade the types of toys they produce.

The best-seller dinosaurs are now being joined manatees, whales and sharks as most sought-after aquarium water toys that kids love to possess. Moreover, replicas of more ocean animals like otters, sea turtles and sea lions are sellable as well. Inspired by the famous Sponge Bob cartoon program, toy manufacturers are also offering an entirely Sponge Bob themed aquarium line.

Aiming to soothe the baby's pre-sleep hours, the aquarium water toys are converged in a bowl that plays lullabies and flashes bright lights. Sea creatures and fishes all move around the bowl. One good product is Ocean Wonders Aquarium.

Little aquariums and fishbowls filled with water are also a fascination among kids ages 1 to 3. In little aquariums, a snow-globe concept is enhanced by small tropical fishes swimming under the sea. The little aquarium has a magnetic effect that allows your kid to move the fishes. Bubbles, fishes and light effects are truly entertaining in fishbowls.

Non-Toxic Toys

Parents are rightly concerned with the safety of their children's toys. Toys are recalled everyday due to lead, arsenic, PVC, and other heavy metal content. There has been an increasing concern in the safety of toys made in other countries because safety standards can be low, or hard to monitor on toys coming from outside of the U.S.

Recent legislation has put new standards and testing requirements on toy makers that should help the situation. Toy makers must adhere to the testing standards and cannot sell toys that contain toxic chemicals or heavy metals. All toys must go through testing before they can be sold. However, a lot of the companies that already produce environmentally friendly, safe, non-toxic toys will be negatively affected by the legislation because they can't afford the testing to prove that they're safe products are actually safe.

It's a double edged sword. As parents, we want our children's toys tested and guaranteed safe. However, we don't want to shut down these small businesses that are actually doing a lot of good in the community. Handmade toys and clothes generate a lot of income for families throughout the U.S. However, as the legislation stands, they will not be allowed to sell anything unless they go through a third-party testing facility, which charges hundreds or even thousands of dollars per toy for testing.

Many people are writing to Congress asking that the rules be modified to keep handmade toys and children's products on the market. Hopefully an agreement can be met that satisfies parent's needs for safety in their children's products and makes safety standards attainable for small businesses.

In the meantime, you may consider making some of your own handmade toys. It is fun and rewarding to craft your own toys, and it's something that you can involve your children in. You can teach them about the value of working hard to make something of exceptional value. Talk about how toys that are handmade are special, because every one is unique. Handmade toys can be heirloomed and cherished for generations.

Wood products for building toys can be found online through wood manufacturing companies. You can make your own blocks, cars, games and more. Some companies offer finishing services and use a toxin-free, heavy metal-free finish, putting your worries ate ease.

Shopping for wood parts to build toys can be exciting and inspiring. You may be surprised what you find and decide to give it a try. Wood manufacturers that sell toy parts will often offer custom services. They can carve specialty pieces, add hardware, and even boy toys for you to give as gifts.

You and your child can use your imagination and build things together. You may want to start with an assortment of wood toy parts, like balls, dowels, buttons, and blocks. You can use a dowel to create axels on trucks, wagons and more. Buttons and knobs can help you decorate. Custom game pieces can help you to create family fun that will be treasured for generations. Keep your family safe and experience the joy of creating your own wooden toys together.

The 10 children toys for Christmas and beyond

Every year there are toys top which is hard to think too much. An example of a few years ago was a dinosaur robot is very expensive, costing parents a lot of money. Many friends I know bought this after Christmas for their children and have never played with again. So I'm not here to give you the latest results from the news about what really sells well, I give you my personal experience and the experience of friends with this list, feel what we didare the top ten toys for Christmas.

First, there must be a traditional, but the favorite toy, Lego. Lego is available in different sizes, depending on how old the child. Large bricks are suitable for very young children because they can not be swallowed, and smaller for larger pieces more difficult. There are many different models, you can buy, often models that relate to films that were for films like Indiana Jones and Harry Potter. I found that vehiclesproving increasingly popular, be it cars or rockets. The beauty of Lego is that you select a container for your budget.

Next is a toy. The girls especially love this and while you tend to buy for children, it is not until the 'age of about 50-10 in my experience that in reality the comfort and respect for them. Dogs and cats are becoming increasingly popular, not too big and everything has a beautiful face, and feels soft to the touch.

My third choice is not cheap, butMy God, the children play and just play, and never get bored of it. The Nintendo DS (pink, if you can buy for a girl!) Is a constant game of selling more, and rightly so. You can buy games without end for them. Most younger children from the age of 7 to enjoy these virtual pets, especially dogs Nintendo. You can blow bubbles to the dog with the purchase of accessories such as belts to play for their fur, feed them and pet them. With some games, you can connect to one another, so that children Advisorycan play with them. These are ideal for air travel, car trips long and, as a last resort some quiet time to write in a restaurant, if you want to keep up with That adults are children that food! A great buy.

Number four is the new Swim Baby Born doll. Children five years would have liked to play with in the bathtub. You can actually swim and then wrapped in a towel and clothes, etc. I noticed all the girls in a phase ofloving baby dolls. I have a seven-year, who asked for this for Christmas, and last year he was still playing with dolls. So if you have a child who could get a doll of them every day and especially on the day to ask bathroom is white.

Number five is a board game called Jenga. It is suitable for boys or girls of any age. You build a tower of wooden blocks and one for which we take turn to take a tower of blocks. Finally, crash and write Jenga. Thisall together, and even if we have a closet full of board games Jenga is to take my three all the time. Another excellent choice would be the fourth Connect

Number six is described as a toy for Christmas, but they are also as many boys and girls would like to know as a Christmas show like this. Apple's iPod is in a wide range of colors and is still very trendy with children and adolescents. Younger children seem to find the light Zen Stonelove, but older only Apple's iPod and the ability to watch the video of his singers, etc. It 'easy to use and appears to be robust. Also very easy to use.

Number seven is something to do with Bratz. The more popular than Barbie with a little 'older children aged six years and say it. I personally love the doll, a style and you hang up. Comes in a box of good size.

Barbie will be number eight. Only for very young children. My ten years old girl who loves Bratzbut would be horrified by rececive do with Barbie. My seven years, but still Barbie as their peers have already passed Bratz. So if you're a child six or younger then I would be off to buy glamorous Barbie Stick. Many of the dolls to choose from. Mine always dressed like a cool place, but there were like a princess and those who have a dog or cat with them, dressed very popular.

Magnetix will be number nine. For older children, but they do for girlsGirlie pale pink beads and more items for children are based. The magnets means that build and supply all kinds of creations with these toys. Even children have to find places within the home for them. I would never have bought if you have younger children at home because they just beg to be swallowed by a child, but for children aged between eight and have the job very well.

Last but not least, a book for Christmas. If you know a child whoView the current best-seller and buy a book to read. My ten-year old loves Daugava Jacqueline Wilson and Meg Cabot. My seven year old girl is now a big fan of Enid Blyton and my love of twelve Garth Nix and Charlie Higson.

All toys were also more popular with my children, friends', not just children.
Here are the pictures of the toys mentioned www.helpful-ideas.com

Old fashioned traditional toys vs. Electronic Toys

How long is a baby and is excited to play with a toy is a new mom and dad first consideration when buying children's toys or children's toys. Nobody wants to traditional stereotype of the fork a lot of money for a toy to see and find that the child plays with the box it came in! Another important factor, but many parents do not take into account the positive effects of a toy can have on the promotion and development of young people.

Children growing up ina variety of areas, cognitive (physical) and social (through interaction with other children and adults). A good toy is intended to play as well as great fun, helping to trigger growth in some of these areas. So if you visit the toy store, are simple to do and not do, that we should study to acquire the critical selection?

First, and somewhat controversial, you can safely stay out of the new wave of electronic toys andComputer educational toy available travel. Experts have discovered that these toys are Goal Oriented, which means that a child learns to think creatively or experimental in their game, and hence their cognitive growth is not triggered. Toys coax the child and thus reduce the effort the child and the cognitive processes involved did not stimulate development. This class of toys do not give a child an opportunity to think creatively and explore new ways of creative thinking. Like anyParents know the child's imagination is boundless, and this is a gift, think differently than adults, a child to grow cognitively into an incredible speed to enable. If the toy only learn one way and the result, not a child to develop options to decide between a puzzle.

University studies have shown that fashion 'old toys are the most beneficial when it comes to prime the cognitive growth, the mere fact of using a variety of foods for infants in each. Thisallows a cave, in everything from a house in a market stall at the center of coordination for the next space mission. Jean Piaget, a child physiologist revered, methods so-called new thinking "patterns." The patterns were developed by the kind of creative thinking, we describe here.

traditional toys, like a trump card in promoting motor skills. A child's physical progress can be divided into two main areas: gross motor skills (the growthlarge muscles, so that we can run, lifting and moving) and fine motor skills (this will allow us Our hands, objects with great skill and care to check). Classic, traditional toys such as sorting and xylophones cages are great fun for young children to develop hand-eye coordination, cooperation, while maintaining older toddler commuter cars and bikes for children to move, as they develop their growing muscles, strength and coordination.

Finally, it is clear that the toys might be as straightresponse to social development as well. toys that are triggered by interaction and teamwork are other ways to develop an excellent ability of a child to empathize and work with. RPGs toys are amazing at this, so a child to place unknown situations in a practical and safe for children to interact with others, producing complex situations, do more. They allow a child to act on scenarios and better understand the environment, while around them the same securityTime.

Remember the following points before starting his next Christmas season, will be of great help.

Before The toy can be used in a number of different species?
According to a child can change the purpose of the toy with his mind and ideas of the eyes?
Third If this toy only durable, safe, charming, funny, and certificate for the child's age?
Fourth Will the toy provide increasing levels of difficulty, so it can grow with your child?
Check the fifth toysuitable for use with other young people, enables interaction.
Sixth And 'this toy just a fluke or is a component of cost of living even more in coming years.

No matter turned out as it seems or how well advertised or packaged to the robotic dinosaurs you never provide your child with skills development, good old pull toy offers. Spotted walking the dog is dehydrated again with batteries Robo-Dino.
